Hello, Melissa Hamilton with the National Weather.

The satellite showing a broad band of cloud through western and South Australia. That’s triggering showers and storms, while cloud in the southeast is causing a few showers over Victoria and Tasmania.

Looking around the states, isolated showers over Queensland’s east coast and ranges, with possible storms in the west. It should be fine elsewhere with a high fire danger over most of the state.

New South Wales can expect isolated showers and thunderstorms in the southeast, with some showers on the northern coast, clearing by the afternoon. And warm to hot temperatures over the inland.

Isolated showers for Victoria as well, thunderstorms in the north and east of the state, and some morning fog in the south.

It will be a wet day too in Tasmania with isolated showers in the south and east of the state.

South Australia will have isolated fog in the morning and some thunderstorms in the far west with very high temperatures inland.

While southern western Australia can expect isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. And a fine day for the top end, gusty winds on the west coast and isolated storms south of Daly Waters.

Looking ahead to the forecast for the major cities tomorrow. Rain for the southern capitals, cloudy for Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane, a windy day in Perth, a top of 35 degrees in Darwin.
