Taking a look at the satellite picture first and you can see cloud streaming across the south and east. That’s generating areas of rain and storms. Ragged cloud over the northern tropic is bringing a little light rain. Cloud sweeping over the southern part of Western Australia is only causing the odd light shower.

Around the States now, a fine day across most of Queensland, isolated showers and thunderstorms around the central west with patchy rain developing over the Channel Country.

There’s an extreme fire danger warning for much of New South Wales today. It will be very hot across the state despite showers in the northeast.

Wet in Victoria with heavy fogs and localized flash flooding that would contract to southeast by the afternoon.

A cooler change for Tasmania, rain across much of the state tending to showers during the afternoon.

Rain’s also forecast for parts of the South Australia’s southeast. It should be mostly fine elsewhere though.

Across in the west, isolated showers and drizzle around the southern interior and above the south coast.

Further north, the chance of a light storm in the western Pilbara and Kimberley. The rest of the northern territory should be partly cloudy and dry.

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s weather forecast in the major centers, a few showers in Sydney, fine in Brisbane, showers in Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart, sunny in Perth.
