The low and trough that’s been spreading showers across the southeast over the past few days is starting to move offshore. However, New South Wales and Queensland can expect a few more storms today. The cloud over WA is also producing storms and the weakening high will keep the southern states fine and dry.

To the states now, more rain for Queensland expects storms in the north and west of the ranges as that system moves east.

Similar conditions for New South Wales, flood threats harvests in the northwest but the Weather Bureau says there’s still a chance of rising rivers.

It will be fine and sunny in Victoria apart from the odd shower in the northeast.

Tasmania is also in for a mostly sunny day after a cool morning.

Fine and dry in South Australia, cloud above the southeast corner should clear by later afternoon.

In the west, Perth is in for another fine, sunny day and apart from the odd shower above the southwest corner, it should be fine. Rain will start to build above the central coast as well.

Further north, central areas of the Northern Territory will be hot and sunny. There will be just some light cloud cover over the Kimberley region and Top End can expect a monsoon storm in the afternoon.

Around the capitals now, rain in Brisbane, showers clear in Sydney, fine in the southern capitals, very hot in Perth and a light storm for Darwin.
