The Federal Government will today release a key report warning Australia’s ageing population could threaten its economic growth. The intergenerational report will outline the financial impact of the country's ageing population. Growth will be much lower over the next 40 years than in the past four decades and less productivity improves. The Treasurer Wayne Swan says the report will look at harnessing older people's skills to keep them in the workforce longer.

Ten American missionaries have been arrested for trying to take more than 30 children from Haiti to the Dominican Republic. Haitian authorities say the group did not have the proper documents to take the children out of the country. The Americans say they are planning to establish an orphanage and were unaware they didn't have all the necessary documents.

And the man and woman charged with the murder of Melbourne businessman Herman Rockefeller will appear in court today. It is alleged Mario Schembri and Bernadette Denny admitted they got into a fight with the millionaire that ended with his death. Police have recovered human remains from a backyard close to where the couple was arrested on Thursday.

I'll have more news later.
