The US President Barack Obama will not be visiting Australia next week. The White House says the trip is now being planned for sometime in June. Mr. Obama postponed his visit to Australia and Indonesia to focus on getting his health insurance bill through Congress.

 

A man who sparked a massive search across Perth yesterday will appear in court today. Colin Little was arrested on Wednesday after leading police in a high-speed car chase across the city. He escaped custody yesterday while being taken to hospital. The 22-year-old was recaptured in the backyard of a house.

 

A British boy kidnapped from Pakistan two weeks ago has been reunited with his family. Five-year-old Sahil Saeed was held captive for 13 days. He was reunited with his father at the British High Commission in Islamabad after a ransom was paid. He’s since returned to his mother in Manchester.

 

And Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting is expecting a big performance from Michael Clarke in today's first Test against New Zealand. Clarke returned to Wellington and to the team this week after ending his engagement to Lara Bingle. Ponting says he is confident Clarke has put his personal dilemmas behind him.
