Hello, Nick Dole with the National Weather.

Let’s take a look at the satellite picture first. And patchy low cloud across the southeast trapped under a high is bringing the odd shower to South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. A ridge of high pressure is keeping the north mostly clear and dry.

It will be a fine and dry day for Queensland apart from some isolated showers over Cape York Peninsula and along the east coast, south of Sandy Cape.

New South Wales can expect isolated showers about the north coast, but it should be mostly fine elsewhere.

A cold and cloudy day in the south of Victoria with isolated showers developing along the coast this afternoon. It will be mostly fine in the north.

In Tasmania, there will be patchy rain over the western south with some fresh southwest winds. Otherwise, it should be fine.

Across to South Australia and there will be isolated light showers around southern Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the lower southeast, but it should clear by this evening.

Western Australia can expect scattered showers to develop near the southwest capes in the evening.

Further north and it will be fine and mostly sunny apart from some isolated showers near the northeast coast and the Pilbara. It should be cool in the south.

And looking ahead, Canberra can expect a chilly start of the day with a low of minus three. It will be mostly fine in the rest of the capitals apart from a few showers in Brisbane and Perth.
