The satellite image shows a cloud band stretching across southern Australia. A cold front is producing some scattered showers. Cloud extending through WA in a trough is generating rain across the northwest. There will be some isolated showers along Queensland's east coast, fine elsewhere, with southerly change spreading across the southwest late in the day.

New South Wales will see some patchy rain developing over the southwest with some snow showers forming on the Alps. A fine and sunny day across the rest of the state.

It will be cool and cloudy across Victoria with areas of rain developing across the state. Snow showers are above 1,200 metres and some isolated thunderstorms possible, along the south coast.

Cold conditions across Tasmania today with some showers in the north and west.

South Australia will see some showers in the southwest with clear skies elsewhere and some warm northerly winds later.

A band of cloud pushing into the southwest corner of WA is bringing some showers to the coast and the centre.

And a few patches of high cloud across the Northern Territory's Top End are not bringing any rain. The skies should stay clear across the state.

Across the country for tomorrow. Cloudy and cool in Sydney. Melbourne and Adelaide will be cool and rainy. Cloudy in Perth and a cold and rainy day for Canberra.
