 1. Almost as soon as it began former baseball star Roger Clemens's perjury trial ended Thursday. In a mistrial, the judge blamed on prosecutors and said a "first-year law student" would have known to avoid. The question of a new trial is still up in the air. 

 
 
2. As the debt debate continues in Washington, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he's looked at all the options and that there is no way to give Congress more time to solve the debt limit problem. Lawmakers is facing Aug.2nd deadline.
 
 
3. In an abrupt about-face, Rupert Murdoch and his son James now say they will meet with British lawmakers investigating phone hacking and bribery by employees of their newspaper empire. They initially turned down a request to appear before Parliament next Tuesday. But after lawmakers took the dramatic step of issuing a summons, the Murdochs agreed to appear.
 
 
4. And with a military honor guard carrying her casket, the final memorial service was held for Betty Ford in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The former first lady will be buried next to her husband.
