 Taking a look at the satellite image first. Thick cloud over the northwest tropics around a developing tropical low is bringing scattered showers. Cloud over the northern territory in Queensland in a trough is triggering scattered showers and storms. A cloud band sweeping over the southeast in a trough is producing a few showers and storms.

 
Around the states, Queensland can expect further showers and storms of the far north. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible about the central and southern interior. 
 
In New South Wales, clearing showers on the far north coast and partly cloudy in the far southwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in the afternoon on the western slopes, the central and northern ranges.
 
Fine in Victoria, apart from some morning coastal drizzle, mild in the south but warm inland and with moderate to local fresh southwest to southerly winds.
 
Isolated showers in the west for Tasmania, mainly fine in southeast and fine elsewhere.
 
In South Australia, isolated showers and thunderstorms north of Port Lincoln and Loxton. 
 
Fine over the remainder. Western Australia can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms in the northwest in Kimberley region. Areas of morning drizzle in southern coastal districts.
 
And isolated showers and storms in the Northern Territory.
