Let's take a look at the weather now. On the satellite image, you can see cloud around Tropical Cyclone Bianca producing showers for southwestern WA. And there's cloud over the coast of Queensland associated with Tropical Cyclone Anthony producing showers. Cloud over the western interior in a trough is triggering storms.

Around the states today:

In Queensland, isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northern tropics and extending from the northwest district right through to the southern interior.

In New South Wales, isolated showers on the far north coast, fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.

In Victoria, a hot to very hot and mainly sunny day. A cooler southwest to southerly change will develop later in the southwest. Forty degrees in Melbourne today.

In Tasmania, mild to warm with some patchy rain about the south.

A very hot day for South Australia. It's doing a couple better than Melbourne. Adelaide is going for a top of 42 today, dry apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the far west.

In WA, rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the southwest associated with Bianca, with moderate to heavy falls and localised flooding possible in the south. Showers and storms near the west coast, and isolated showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley and Pilbara.

In the Northern Territory, fine over the southwestern Alice Springs District, isolated showers and gusty storms elsewhere in the afternoon and evening. A hot day, south of the Top End.

Looking ahead to tomorrow: Sydney, sunny, at top of 32; Canberra, sunny, 37; Melbourne, mostly sunny, 39; Hobart, some rain, 23; Adelaide, dry and sunny, 40.
