 There's cloud across Queensland and northern New South Wales with a trough and a low causing heavy rain. There's cloud along the New South Wales coast caused by moist onshore winds fading a trough. That might trigger more showers. Monsoonal cloud is also triggering showers in the north.

And in Queensland there will be cloud and thundery rain across southern and central parts of the state. Scattered showers and thunderstorms about the tropics. 
 
To New South Wales, rain in the far northeast and heavy over parts of the central and south coast. Rain developing in the west. 
 
In Victoria, partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers developing. Patchy rain also in the west. That'll hit northwest as the day progresses. 
 
In Tasmania, mostly cloudy with isolated light showers along the north and east coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. 
 
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in South Australia, easing to isolated showers in the west of the state. 
 
In WA, isolated showers and thunderstorms in the Pilbara and northern interior this afternoon. Some areas have drizzle in the southern districts. 
 
In the Northern Territory, isolated showers and storms more frequently over the Top End.
 
Now let's take a look at the forecast for the capitals. It will be fine in Perth. A possible light storm for Brisbane. Possible storms in Darwin, and wet across the rest of the capitals.
