Cloud in the Top End is circling around the Tropical Cyclone Errol, but the heaviest rain and strongest winds are off shore. Extensive cloud in the east is causing heavy rain over New South Wales and Queensland. Cloud over southwestern WA is causing a few showers.

In Queensland today, isolated showers and thunderstorms over central districts and the southeast interior increasing to thundering rain tonight, isolated showers for the rest of the state except for the northwest where it should be fine.

There will be isolated showers for the northeast of New South Wales today and along the south coast, a chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland, it should be fine elsewhere.

A mostly fine day for Victoria apart from isolated showers developing in the southwest of the state in the evening.

A fine day too for Tasmania apart from some early fog patches increasing north to northwest winds.

And much of the same for South Australia where apart from early fog, it will be a clear and warm day.

Showers and possible storms for the northwest corner of Western Australia today, isolated showers over the northern Kimberley district.

And in the Northern Territory, isolated showers on the far north coast, mostly sunny elsewhere.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, thundering rain for Brisbane; mostly sunny for Sydney and Melbourne; fine for Canberra, Hobart and Adelaide; a few clouds for Perth and it will be mostly sunny in Darwin.
