 President Barack Obama's top adviser on counter-terrorism John Brennan says that it's inconceivable that Osama Bin Laden didn't have support within Pakistan. The compound housing Bin Laden was only a few hundred metres from Pakistan's main military academy in Abbottabad. US Navy SEALs and the CIA were behind the raid. They were willing(口误)to take Bin Laden alive, but they shot and killed him when he tried to resist.

 
Tony Abbott's relentless attacks on the Government seem to be paying dividends. The Opposition leader's approval rating has jumped 6 per cent to 42 per cent in the latest Newspoll. Julia Gillard's approval is virtually unchanged at 38 per cent.
 
It's been a bad 24 hours for Victoria's police force. It's investigating two police shootings (口误) within hours of each other that left one man dead and another recovering in hospital. Now one of its most senior police has also resigned amid claims he can no longer work for the Chief Commissioner Simon Overland.
 
A bomb attack on a mosque in the northwest of Pakistan has killed at least three people. Three policemen were also wounded in that blast. It's not clear if the attack was in response to the death of Osama Bin Laden. Earlier, the Pakistani Taliban had threatened retaliation.
 
And a large crowd has turned out for the funeral of one of Colonel Gaddafi's sons who was killed by a NATO air strike. Some fired guns while others chanted their support for the Libyan leader. The United Nations is pulling its staff out of Tripoli after several embassies were attacked by angry mobs
