Checking the weather now, and you can see widespread cloud over South Australia and the west of New South Wales, that's causing patchy rain and isolated storms. Onshore winds are pushing more cloud along the Queensland coast, triggering scattered showers there. While light cloud about Western Australia is generating isolated falls above the south coast.

Around the states, and Queensland can expect isolated showers and storms about the central west with morning drizzle along the south coast and about the southern interior. Rain about New South Wales will start to extend across the state this morning, and there is the chance of thunderstorms over the northern rivers and mid-north coast.

A cool and cloudy day for Victoria, scattered showers in the west should start to spread across the state by mid-afternoon. In Tasmania, there will be isolated afternoon and evening showers in the west and north, with possible light thunderstorms in the far north. Severe weather warnings for South Australia have eased, but rain is expected in most parts with the heaviest falls over the interior and the east.

In Western Australia, isolated showers in the south should start to contract to the coast by mid-afternoon. It should be mostly fine elsewhere. Mostly fine too in the Northern Territory apart from some isolated showers in the Top End.

And looking ahead to Monday, rain and a chance of afternoon showers in Brisbane, possible showers too in Sydney
