2. The Obama administration may formally call for Syrian President Bashar al Assad to step down today. The speculation comes as a UN panel says the crackdown in Syria may amount to crimes against humanity. He should be looked at by the international criminal court. 3. A frequent contributor to a jihadist website has threatened David Letterman. In an online posting, he urges Muslim followers to cut the tongue of the Late Night host because of a joke he made on his show. A spokesman for the FBI office in New York says it is looking into the threat.
