BERLIN, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Bundesliga record champions Bayern Munich wrapped up last 16 berth at UEFA Champions League owing to a dominant 3-1 performance at outsold Allianz Arena against Villarreal on Tuesday. The "Bavarians" astonished Villarreal with an early goal as French midfielder Franck Ribery opened the scoring after he curled home an assist by midfielder Toni Kroos at the third minute.
Bayern kept it bowling against harmless Villarreal that watched by as striker Mario Gomez doubled the lead with a follow up shot from close distance in 24th minute.
Similarly to the first half, Bayern controlled the match against Villarreal that shortened the score out of the blue. With five minutes into second half, midfielder Jonathan de Guzman exploited a long cross to slot home from 16 meters.
Bayern remained unfazed and pilled on the pressure to establish their two point lead owing to Franck Ribery who sealed his brace at the 69th minute.
