A massive Sino-Arab conference is now underway in northwest China.

The second China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum is taking place in Ningxia's capital of Yinchuan.

Jia Qinglin, China's top political advisor, has opened the forum, saying the Chinese government plans to continue providing financial and technological support for Chinese companies that wish to build infrastructure in Arab states.

Jia also says the central government is also planning to make it easier for Arab countries to do business here in China.

More than 7-thousand delegates from 76 countries and regions are attending this year's conference in Yinchuan.

For more on the forum, CRI's Larry Chen had a chance to speak with Wu Bingbing, head of the Department of Arabic Language and Culture at Peking University.
