Danish Designer Talks About Bicycles in Today's China(在线收听

The first ever Beijing International Design Triennial has officially opened at the National Museum in the Chinese capital, featuring some 2-thousand works from nearly 500 artists from China and around the world.

The diverse exhibition covers a wide range of elements from daily life, including housing, clothing, transport and other daily necessities.

The exhibition covers over 5,000 square meters of the museum and is just one of hundreds of exhibits and activities during the first Beijing Design Week.

Just across the museum is the Great Hall of the People, which hosted the Beijing Design Forum.

One of the speakers at the forum was Danish designer Jens Martin Skibsted, entrepreneur, founder, and Creative Director of Skibsted Ideation.

Skibsted is one of the pioneers of the urban mobility movement that has championed the use of bicycles in Copenhagen. He and his team have created bikes for Puma, Audi, and other world-reknowned companies in an effort to promote emissions-free transport.

Earlier, I spoke with Jens Martin Skibsted on whether or not bicycles will have a place in China's future.
