 President Obama is praising a senate agreement passed this morning to extend the social security payroll tax cut into the new year.As NPR S.H reports the short term agreement merely sets the stage from another tax showdown in early 2012.The tax cut approved by the senate is not as big as the one the president asked for and it lasted for just two month.Still,Mr Obama says that's better than the alternative.A tax increased for 160000 working Americans if the senate have refused to act.I wanna thank them for ensuring as we head into the holiday folks at home, don't have to worry about the tax is going up.Mr Obama says he expects lawmakers will eventually ok a tax cut for the full year.The senate bill also requires the administration to give expedited review to a controversial oil pipe plan,something the white house hopes to put off until after next year election.S.H,NPR news,the white house.

 
A typhoon struck the southern Philippines last night,triggering flash flood and landslides.Official says at last 400 people were killed.They worried that figure is likely to rise because more people are missing.Entire village were swept into the sea while people were sleeping.Thousands of people have been forced from their homes.Rescue efforts are being hampered by flooded roads and a lack of electricity.
 
The US withdrawn continues in Irap as only a few thousand troops remain in the country.NPR Sean C reports.At a small ceremony in Bagdad on Saturday native Iraqi official thanked and praised each other.Iraqi general B.B also express the sense of regret,he says everyone wanna continue the mission that has train thousands of Iraqis.Lieutenant general R.C is an outgoing commander of nato training mission in Iraq.We fully understand the reasons why the mission is unable to remain in the form that it is now.General C says the Iraqi leadership invited Nato to stay in another two years,but as with the US forces, Iraq's parliament was not granted a munity to Nato trainer to stay pass 2011.As a result,all 120 NATO personnel in Iraq will leave before the end of the year.Sean C,NPR news,Bagdad.
 
A hearing is underway at Fort Meade in Maryland to determine if there is enough evidence to try Bradley Manning for revealing government secrets. The army intelligence specialist is accused of giving hundreds of thousands of government documents to wiki leaks.
 
Russians are demonstrating again this weekend.They are claiming fraud in the parliamental elections held eariler this month.The turnout in Moscow is much smaller this week with protestors numbering in a hundredth followed by tens of thousands.They are calling for a new election,citing reports from local and international observers of irregularities and outright fraud.
