 1. Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of Pyongyang for the funeral of the late North Korean President Kim Jong Il. Kim's son and heir apparent Kim Jong Un saluted troops who paid tribute to his father.

 
2. Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak went back to court on Wednesday. Mubarak is charged with complicity in the deaths of more than 800 protesters. They were killed before Mubarak was driven from office back in February.
 
3. Human Rights Watch is accusing Syria of hiding detainees from Arab League observers who are now in the country. The group claims detained anti-government protesters have been moved to Syrian military bases which are off limits to human rights observers.
 
4. And firefighters in Stamford, Connecticut are receiving counseling following the Christmas morning fire that killed five people. A bag of discarded fireplace ashes is now suspected of causing the fire that destroyed a waterfront mansion.
