 A trough in the east is generating heavy rains and possible storms across New South Wales and Victoria. Cool southeasterly winds are producing isolated showers along the southern coast, and a trough in the west is also bringing rain to Western Australia.

 
To Queensland, where showers and thunderstorms are forecast across most of the state, mainly in the afternoon, fine west of Normanton to St George.
 
There’s a severe thunderstorm warning for much of northern New South Wales extending along the coast to Wollongong and West Dubbo. The system could produce very large hailstones, heavy rainfall, flash flooding and damaging winds.
 
In Victoria, showers over the southern districts and the northern plains, thunderstorms developing over central and eastern districts.
 
It will be wetting Tasmania also with rain above the northeast and along the north coast.
 
South Australia will see showers across agricultural areas contracting to the southern coasts by evening.
 
In Western Australia, isolated showers and storms in the northwest Kimberley, southern inland and southwest districts.
 
In the top end, isolated showers and storms above the north and west coasts, mainly in the afternoon. Sunny elsewhere.
