 Intensifying clashes in Libya and protests in Saudi’s oil-producing eastern provinces helped to send the price of crude oil above one dollar in early trading on Friday. French crude futures for April reached 115 dollars and 95 cents per barrel before falling back slightly. US crude futures also rallied over a dollar to hit 103 dollars per barrel before receding a bit. As investors keep a close eye on events in North Africa and Middle East, analysts say there is little confidence propose negotiations, but Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez will proved be successful. Investors and traders also nervously tracking the progression of the unrest in the region for any sign that Saudi Arabia, the world’s leading oil producer might be affected. Ingrid Smith Reuters
