 A brief scare for French President Nicolas Sarkozy. He was greeting well wishers in southern France when a man grabbed him from behind security barrier and tried to pull him over the gate. Security guards quickly wrestled the assailant to the ground and arrested the man. He has not been identified and his motives are not clear. Sarkozy was not injured and scuffed, but the video shows the president visibly shaken by the incident. Nicolas Sarkozy was in the region attending a meeting with local leaders. The president is up for re-election battle in less than a year.
