Copenhagen WTA 2012 tennis tournament opens(在线收听

   COPENHAGEN, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The Copenhagen WTA tennis tournament, a 220,000 U.S. dollar outdoor hardcourt event, opened at the Farum Arena here Saturday.

  The international event features 24 players, including world number six women's tennis player Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, who won the title in 2011 and 2010, and is tournament favorite this year.
  Her first match this year will be against Urszula Radwanska from Poland who Wozniacki knows very well and has played several times.
  "We will be no secrets out on the court. We know each other very well. But I look forward to play and I am very happy to be here in Denmark," Wozniacki said at a press conference just after the draw was made.
  The singles qualification event runs Saturday to Sunday, with the main draw singles and doubles events beginning April 9. Both singles and doubles finals are scheduled for April 15.
  Wozniacki, 21, is tournament top seed, while world number 14 Jelena Jankovic of Serbia, 27, is second seed. The earliest that the two top seeds can play against each other will be at the tournament final, the event organizers say.
  Germany's Angelique Kerber is seeded third, while France's Alize Cornet grabbed the last spot.
  Two wild cards for the main draw singles went to Russia's Yulia Putintseva and Denmark's Malou Ejdesgaard, while other three wildcards were for the singles qualification rounds.
  The Copenhagen tournament, also known as the e-Boks Open, follows immediately after other hardcourt outdoor events in Miami and Indian Wells, in the United States. It is scheduled as a fixture on the WTA circuit till 2015, its organizers say.
