　　Singapore-listed Chinese hot-rolled steel coil manufacturer Delong Holdings said it has completed the construction of its first co-generation power plant in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint. 

　　新加坡上市的中国热轧钢圈生产商德龙控股有限公司宣布它已经建成了该公司的首个废热发电厂，以减少碳足迹。 

　　上文中的co-generation power plant就是“废热发电厂”，co-generation，也叫combinedheat and power(CHM)，是“热电联产”的意思，指同时生产电、热能的工艺过程。这一废热发电厂能利用steel coil（钢圈）生产过程中排放出的waste heat and gas（废热和废气）来generate power（发电），可以save energy（节能）、improve air q

　　uality and overall environment（改善空气质量和整体环境），还能降低production costs and energy consumption（生产成本和能源消耗）。 废热发电厂的运作能降低钢铁厂的carbon footprint（碳足迹），从而降低空气中的carbon intensity（碳浓度），是一种carbon offset（碳补偿）行为。
