Egypt's main opposition bloc rejects constitutional referendum(在线收听

CAIRO, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's main opposition bloc, dubbed "National Salvation Front," announced Sunday evening rejection of the constitutional referendum slated for Dec. 15, urging all its supporters to say "No" to the draft constitution.

After a lengthy meeting at al-Wafd Party's headquarters, the opposition bloc said in a statement the draft constitution is meant to serve the interests of one Egyptian faction, referring to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi gave up Saturday the constitutional declaration issued on Nov. 22 that triggered nationwide protests and conflicts, and issued a new one in the hope of ending the turmoil.
The Front, led by former diplomat and liberal politician Mohamed El-Baradie, former Arab League chief Amr Moussa and other leading political figures, rejected the new declaration and urged for massive protests on Tuesday.
