 Alan Jones has described a social media campaign against his advertisers as nothing short of cyber bullying. His employer, 2GB, has suspended advertising on his program indefinitely. It's all in response to the backlash against the broadcaster's comments that the Prime Minister's father died of shame. 

 
Julia Assange is considering suing the Prime Minister for defamation. The Wikileak's founder has told the activist group Getup he's hired lawyers in Sydney to investigate the defamation case. Mr Assange says the PM defamed Wikileaks by claiming the release of those secret documents was illegal.
 
Residents in Queensland are breathing a little easier this morning. Firefighters have contained a blaze in the Goldcoast hinterland that had been threatening several homes. Another fire in the Darling Downs west of Brisbane has also been contained.
 
An inquest begins today into the death of a Brazilian student tasered by police in Sydney. Twenty-one-year-old Roberto Curti was tasered three times after he allegedly stole a packet of biscuits from a convenience store in the city in March. He died at the scene. The incident caused outrage both in Australia and Brazil. 
 
 
And Turkey has again retaliated after another shell fired from Syria landed at a Turkish village near the border. It's the same village that was hit by the Syrian shell last week. Five civilians were killed in that attack. It's the 5th day Turkey has fired into Syria and tensions along that border remain very high.
