 US President Barack Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney are back on the campaign trail. They suspended their campaigns in the wake of the super storm that caused widespread devastation across America's east coast. It's only five days now before the election and polls show it's still a very tight race.

 
 
The storm cleanup is continuing along America's east coast. The first subway train began moving again in New York. But in New Jersey, more than 20,000 people remain trapped in their homes by flood waters. The storm killed, has killed 80 people so far and millions are still without power.
 
 
A petrol tanker has crashed and exploded, killing at least 22 people in Saudi Arabia. The tanker hit the pylon of a flyover in the capital Riyadh. The sebsequent fire engulfed surrounding cars and a warehouse.
 
 
Indonesia's head of Immigration Enforcement has told the ABC Australia's asylum-seeker policies won't work. He says sending asylum-seekers offshore and increasing the refugee intake won't stop the boats. Indonesian authorities say there are up to 100,000 people in Malaysia and Indonesia who want to get to Australia.
