A trough is triggering storms over northern parts of Queensland. Another trough is generating showers and storms in the northern territory and WA. And a high is keeping the country's southeast dry.

New South Wales can expect isolated showers and storms in the north and east. While it will be mostly sunny elsewhere.
 
Victorians can expect a mostly sunny and hot day, with the chance of a late afternoon or evening shower in the southwest.
 
In Tasmania, it will be partly cloudy with isolated showers particularly in the southwest.
 
South Australia can expect isolated showers in the west of the state. While the north can expect a sunny day with weak winds.
 
In WA, it will be stormy in the south, but mostly sunny on the coast and in the north.
 
The Northern Territory can expect showers and storms in the north. While there will be mostly sunny in the south.
 
Looking ahead to tomorrow. And it should be mostly a sunny day in Sydney. Cloudy in Hobart, Melbourne and Canberra. There is a possibility of rain in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin
