 A cell of Australian customs officers at the Sydney airport has allegedly allowed millions of dollars worth of drugs into the country. A joint ABC Fairfax investigation claims the drugs were allowed through border control over several years. Two customs officers have already been charged with bribery, corruption and drug offenses. The Austrailan federal police say they'll make an announcement about the allegations later today.

 
And an investigation is underway into a suspected double-murder in Tasmania's south. Police were called to a property at Mountain River at 1 o'clock this morning and found the bodies of a man and a woman. A man who phoned police from the scene was arrested, police say he may have been related to one of the victims.
 
Police have the body of a toddler who disappeared south of Perth, hundreds of people joined police in a full-scale search at Mandurah. The two-year-old girl was with her parents near the Estuary Bridge last night, when they noticed she was missing.
 
Barack Obama says it will take compromise and courage to address gun violence in the United States. The U.S president has announced his deputy Joe Biden will lead attempts to reform the country's gun laws. President Obama wants the plan to be outlined by January.
 
Two more health workers have been shot dead in Pakistan for their involvement in a polio vaccination drive. Eight people have now been killed in a series of coordinated attacks over the last 48 hours. Unicef has now suspended the program.
