Let's take a look at the satellite, a trough over Queensland and northeast New South Wales is triggering showers and storms. A belt of high pressure in the south is keeping the remainder of NSW, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia dry. Hot northerly winds ahead of a trough are affecting WA.

Looking around the states.

It will be warm in Queensland with showers and storms in the north, the central and west.

In NSW, it'll be hot in the west, showers and storms expected in the northeast.

It'll be dry and mostly sunny throughout Victoria with northerly winds developing.

In Tasmania, light winds throughout patchy coastal showers in the southwest.

Hot and sunny in SA's north, easterly winds in the south and dry throughout.

WA can expect showers and storms in the north, hot inland, southwesterly winds with patchy rain in the west.

In the NT, showers and storms expected in the north and northeast, dry elsewhere.

Looking ahead to tomorrow. And a possible shower in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Mostly sunny in Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide. Increasing sunshine in Perth. And thunderstorms are expected for Darwin.
