IOC begins on-site evaluation on Tokyo's bid for the 2020 Olympics(在线收听

   TOKYO, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The International Olympic Committee' s (IOC) Evaluation Commission on Monday kicked off its four-day visit in Japan's capital of Tokyo to assess the city's bid for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  The Tokyo visit is the first stop of the commission, which will also visit other candidate cities, namely Madrid and Istanbul, on March 18 and 24 respectively.
  During the four-day evaluation, the commission led by IOC Vice President and Committee Chair Craig Reedie will be presented by Tokyo's explanations on 14 themes, such as vision and concept for the Games and sports venues, laid out by the IOC.
  Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in the commission that the Olympic torch should visit Tokyo again in 2020, calling to host the Games in the city is a "lifelong dream" of him.
  Tokyo Governor Naoki Inose also expressed the enthusiasm of the city to host the event and called Tokyo is a "surprising city."
  Tokyo first hosted the Olympic Games in 1964 and the city failed in bidding for the 2016 Olympic Games, which will be hosted by Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
