英闻天下——522 London Police to Review Security Plan(在线收听

In light of the Boston explosions, British police are reviewing their security plan for the upcoming London Marathon.

CRI's London correspondent Tu Yun has more.

The London Marathon will be held this Sunday.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman has said that a security plan is in place, but the arrangements will be reviewed after the blasts in the US.

The spokesman further adds the Boston explosions do not have any implications on security for former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's funeral in central London on Wednesday.

They are describing it as a very different event.

On Monday, a military rehearsal of Thatcher's funeral procession took place in central London.

More than 700 members of the armed forces drawn from all three services took part in the practice.

Thatcher, who died at the age of 87 last week, has been accorded a ceremonial funeral with military honors, one step down from a state funeral.

For CRI , I'm Tu Yun in London.
