Federal authorities are now reportedly classifying the Boston Marathon explosions as a terrorist attack, but it's not yet known if this was a foreign or domestic attack. Reports are also quoting federal officials saying that neither C-4 nor any other high grade explosives were wound after initial tests, which means there is a possibility these were crude explosive devices.
Now the Boston Marathon of course was marking the Patriots Day and the explosion there also means it's the worst attack on the US mainland 9/11.
For some of the residents there, it's a day of patriotism, and athletic competition.
