HOUSTON, July 12 (Xinhua) -- A regional airport in the U.S. state of Texas has reopened Friday after a bomb threat closed the airport for a few hours, local media reported.

The Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, located in Texas's northwestern city of Lubbock, resumed flights a day after a passenger claimed that he was carrying explosives in his luggage Thursday, local TV ABC13 reported.
The man, later identified as 51-year-old Klaus Scholz, told an airport worker to carefully handle his luggage because it was carrying C-4, an explosive that requires a detonator. Authorities say airport police arrested him and the airport was shut down.
Airport officials said investigators examined Scholz's luggage, but found no explosives. Scholz is charged with making a terrorist threat and was released Friday after he posted a bond of 50,000 U.S. dollars.
