3. A fifth straight day of street violence in Egypt. Police have fired tear gas at rock-throwing protesters near Cairo's Tahrir Square. This comes a day after Egypt's president declared a state of emergency in three provinces.
 
4. Road tests - General Motors says it puts new cars and trucks through their paces at its proving grounds in Milford, Michigan to beat the heck out of a vehicle before the customer can. The testing facility has been up and running since 1924.
