PARIS, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- France on Wednesday congratulated Ibrahim Boubacar Keita to be the new President of Mali on the occasion of his swearing-in ceremony, said Philippe Lalliot, Foreign Ministry's spokesman.

As the newly elected president of Mali, Keita took the oath of office on Wednesday morning before members of the Supreme Court in a swearing-in ceremony in the capital city of Bamako .
The ceremony came two weeks after the announcement of the final results of the second round of the presidential elections held on Aug. 11 by the Constitutional Court President Amadi Tamba Camara, who declared that Keita had defeated his rival, Soumaila Cisse, to win the elections with 77.62 percent of vote.
Media reported that another swearing-in ceremony will take place on Sept. 19 at the biggest stadium in Bamako. During the event, 25 presidents from the sub-region will take part, including French President Francois Hollande and South Africa's Jacob Zuma.
France is ready to "give full support" to President Keita, Lalliot said during a press briefing.
