BR is a well-known figure in his neihborhood of N,a district in Canpala that has produced many talented boxers.He is hailed for his boxing skills,but also for his ability to persevere under difficult circumstances.R is a boxer who cannot see.He is completely blind.
So B,When did you start learning to boxing?
I studied boxing when I was still young,before I became blind.
B's blindness came unexpectedly eighteen years ago.When it happened,he was still just a teen.And his family abandoned him.His only assistant came from neighborhood orphans who would make him meals from time to time.He soon found comfort and strength in the middle of the rain.
Why did you want to start boxing?
I like it because when I was normal,my parents didn't like me to play boxing.They said it was not a good game.So when I became blind,agian I studied it afresh.
Do the other blind people here in the N,Canala,see you as an inspiration?
N has no blinds,they are not there.In Canpala,they are there,but they do not like boxing.They fear.They say,wow,you play boxing,man.Fear boxing,oh,you won't kill us,you see.As you know,it's not something,but if you haven't known how to yet,you fear.Because they,you are not seeing them and they will hit you.
And now you want to raise awareness to form your blind boxing league.
Yeah,I would like to tell them more,so let them know that they are blind boxers in the world.
One of the first people to push B's awareness to boxing was coach H.
What did you think when he asked you I'm blind but I want to learn boxing again.
I like him because I want him to become a history.Because so far in the world there is no blind boxer so that if he also be,he will be a hero. |
