 1. President Barack Obama met with congressional leaders from both parties at the White House Tuesday to discuss a resolution authorizing military action in Syria. He found support among lawmakers with House Speaker John Boehner saying the use of chemical weapons must be responded to. Meanwhile Secretary of State, John Kerry told the Congress that the Syria debate is about a red line that anyone with a conscience ought to draw. 

 
2. Uncertainty about the Syria hangs over the President Obama’s 3 days trip overseas. He is due to arrive in Stockholm Wednesday for meetings on climate change, security cooperation and trade before heading to the G20 summit in Russia. 
 
3. And the newly built eastern span of the San Francisco – Oakland bay bridge handled its first morning commute Tuesday, with little fanfare and normal traffic issues. It replaces a span damaged in the 1989 earthquake. The bridge’s bike and pedestrian path also opened.
