演播室采访:更多的学校申请者选择职业导向课程(在线收听

China is reforming its graduate school education system this year to make it available to more students and more valuable in the increasingly competitive job market. But will these changes have their intended effect?

Joining me now in the studio to discuss China's grad school education is Dr. Wang Yan from the National Institute of Education Sciences.

Q1. More applicants are now choosing a profession-oriented graduate program over the more conventional academic-oriented one. What are the advantages of a profession-oriented program?

Q2. We’re seeing a drop in the number of applicants across multiple provinces. Besides the cancellation of free grad school, what else is behind the steep decline.

Q3. In China, people go to grad school primarily for two reasons...either to avoid the competitive job market right after finishing their undergrad, or in hopes of finding a better job with a graduate degree. How do you see grad school fulfilling these purposes, or does it at all?
