2. President Obama huddled with executives from leading technology companies including Google, Twitter and Apple. The White House says the meeting was focused on efforts to prepare the Obama Administration’s healthcare.gov website and reform government information technology. The National Security Agency’s surveillance programs were also on the agenda.
 
3. Pope Francis celebrated his 77th birthday at Vatican. He has already had birthday cake but he is awaiting another present, a delegation from his favourite Argentine soccer team, San Lorenzo, will give him a replica of their championship trophy.
 
4. And Mexico City inaugurated a huge ice rink in its main central square, the Zocalo. The ceremony to inaugurate the 48,000-square-foot ice rink started with a dance and light show. The rink is one of the Latin America’s largest.
