CCTV9英语新闻:Senior Japanese officials to visit US over Abe's Yasukuni visit(在线收听

Japan is now dealing with the on-going fallout from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to the war-linked Yasukuni shrine last month. With the US having already expressed its disappointment, Japanese diplomats are busy attempting to soothe ties with Washington.

Abe’s younger brother, and the country’s senior Vice-Foreign Minister Nobuo Kishi will visit the US for five days beginning Monday. He is scheduled to meet US government officials and experts, and convey to them Abe’s purported intention.

And on Friday, the chief of Japan’s newly established National Security Council Shotaro Yachi will also pay a visit to Washington. According to Japanese media, he will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry, and account for Abe’s actions.
