US special envoy on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Glyn Davies has arrived in Beijing to discuss nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula.

Davies is scheduled to meet with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui, and China’s Special Representative for Korean peninsula affairs Wu Dawei. Denuclearization of the Korean peninsular and resumption of six-party talks are at the top of their agenda.

Foreign ministry spokesman, Qin Gang, told a press conference on Monday that China wants to see enhanced trust at the negotiating table, and hopes the six-party talks will soon resume. Davies is also scheduled to visit South Korea and Japan.
