1月美国就业增长令人失望

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S. employers added fewer new jobs than expected in January, putting wrinkles on the economic outlook, although the jobless rate fell to a five-year low, the Department of Labor reported Friday.

The unemployment rate fell to 6.6 percent from 6.7 percent in the previous month, the lowest since October 2008.
Total non-farm payroll employment rose by 113,000 in January, less than the market forecast of up to 180,000.
The number of unemployed Americans declined from 10.4 million to 10.2 million, according to the report.
The number of long-term unemployed, or those jobless for 27 weeks or more, was 3.6 million, down 232,000.
Over the past year, the number of unemployed has fallen by 1.1 million.
