 1. Fans at the finish line of the Boston marathon heard the “Star-Spangle Banner” Monday afternoon Meb Keflezighi became the first American to win the race in more than 3 decades. Keflezighi ran the race in 2 hours 8 minutes 37 seconds amid tight security, a year after the bombs near the finish line killed 3 and wounded more than 260. 

 
2. Vice President Joe Biden landed in Kiev for a high profile visit to demonstrate the US commitment to Ukraine and push for implementation of an international agreement aimed at de-escalating tensions. 
 
3. Officials in Iraq say suicide bombings and other attacks killed at least 30 people Monday and wounded nearly 70 more. The deadliest attack took place in a town south of Baghdad where a suicide bomber rammed an explosive laden car into a police checkpoint.
 
4. And under sunny skies the President and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House lawn. In addition to the Egg Rolling, the nearly 30,000 guests participated in the story telling, healthy cooking and sports activities.
