In Nigeria, the Islamist militant group Boko Haram is being accused of killing at least 48 people, in new attacks on three northeastern villages on Tuesday and Wednesday.This comes a day after a double bombing in the central city of Jos.

Nigeria’s Emergency Management Authorities say 4 more people died overnight bringing the death toll to at least 122. Boko Haram is being blamed for the bombings which were set off during rush hour. Nigerians are appealing to the government to step up its security efforts.

 

"We did not really know what it was.Everybody was just running helter skelter.Later on we now came back and closed our shops.Later on we started seeing particles and body parts.Seriously this thing is so terrible.Its not something to talk about." Survivor Nelly Kure said.

 

"Based on the experience I have had outside this country I know they are not doing it theproper way.The military still need to be equipped.Let them get things that will help to scan cars and people that are passing in the whole of this country.Not only in the north." Survivor Gabriel Uchechukwu said.

 

"We are not happy about what has happened.We want our government to rescue us from this insurgency." Eyewitness Geoffrey Gyangson said.
