 A corporate regulator says it will monitor the Commonwealth Bank's new compensation program, for customers who have lost money as a result of bad financial advice. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission says it wants to be notified if the CVA uncovers any illegal activity during its open review program. It says the bank will have ten days to report any wrongdoings it uncovers. ASIC was criticized by the Senate report for its inaction in dealing with rogue planners at the Commonwealth Bank. 

 
There are signs Australians living in the country's outer suburban areas are struggling to keep up with mortgage payments. Figures released by a credit ratings agency F. show L. and R. have pushed higher since the beginning of the year. The figures show that 3.7% of mortgage holders on the edge of cities have been more than 30 days late for a mortgage payment in the past six months.

And the All Ords closed 0.7 of a percent higher today; the ASX 200 posting a similar gain. The Dow Jones finished 72 points higher on the back of better-than-expected jobs data. The Nasdaq also managed some gains closing the day up 0.6 of a percent.
