Before leaving Caracas, Chinese President Xi oversaw the signing of dozens of cooperative agreements with Venezuela. One of the deals includes a $4 billion loan from China, to support the Joint Chinese-Venezuela Fund, which will finance infrastructure and economic development across the South American country.

Q1. Cuba is rolling out a host of reform, including expansion of the private sector, meanwhile China is focusing increasingly on direct investment in projects in Cuba. How have these benefited both sides? And what can we expect in the future?

Q2. Cuba is the last stop of President Xi Jinping’s Latin America tour. Apart from the economic front, what strategic significance does Cuba bear among the Latin American countries?
