Full coverage: 6.5-Magnitude Quake Hits Southwest China's Yunnan Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for intensified rescue efforts, saying life is the most important thing. The President also stressed efforts to relocate people, and handle relief work. Xi urged local departments to monitor seismic activity and avoid secondary disasters. 

Premier Li Keqiang is on his way to the quake zone. He’s instructed that daily necessities be supplied to the people there.
