Tensions remain high around the Canadian parliament building in Ottawa. A Canadian soldier guarding a nearby war memorial was murdered. Then gunfire erupted inside the parliament building. Police report one gunman is dead. The security at government installations throughout Canada is on high alert. 4 former Blackwater security guards are in jail. The 4 were found guilty of shooting more than 30 Iraqis in Baghdad 7 years ago. The shootings caused an international uproar over the use of defense contractors in urban warfare.
Jeffrey Fowle is home in Ohio after spending 6 months in a North Korean prison. He arrived at Wright Patterson airbase early Wednesday morning. Later, the family attorney said Fowle was treated well in North Korea.
And in Ashland, Oregon, some Sunday shoppers at a Rite Aid found a cuddly customer in their midst. A scared bear cub scurried down store aisles after wandering through a nearby motel.
